Pettit ViViD is a bright color antifouling paint. Bottom paint, in general, was dull and dirty looking until Vivid. Now you can have the brightest colors, the blackest black and the whitest white you have ever seen on your boat. All without sacrificing multi-season protection.
Its hybrid technology incorporates the benefits of both hard and ablative antifouling paints. So, when you choose a bright Vivid color, you also get a powerful, dual biocide antifouling paint that is as effective as it is beautiful. Recommended application method: brush, roller, airless, or conventional spraying. Safe to use on fiberglass, wood, steel, and aluminum with proper surface preparation.

APPLICATION INFORMATION
Vivid contains cuprous thiocyanate and as a result of this there is a tendency
for settling to occur, especially if the paint has been on the shelf for several
months. It is necessary to thoroughly mix the paint before using. If possible,
shake the can of paint on a mechanical paint shaker. Before using, check the
sides and bottom of the can to make sure all the pigment has been mixed in.
If mixing is going to be done with a wooden paddle or an electric drill mixer,
pour off half of the liquid from the top of the can into another can and then
properly mix in any settled pigment; then remix the two parts together
thoroughly.
Adhere to all application instructions, precautions, conditions, and limitations to obtain optimum performance. Refer to individual labels and tech sheets for detailed instructions when using associated products, etc. Vivid is a high solids products. Do not apply this paint in thick films or in more than four coats as poor adhesion may result. When applying by roller use a short nap (3/16 inch maximum) roller cover. Product can be thinned up to 10% (12 ounces per gallon) without any loss in performance. Do not thin beyond your state's compliant limit.
SURFACE PREPARATION
Coating performance, in general, is proportional to the degree of surface
preparation. Follow recommendations carefully, avoiding shortcuts. Inadequate
preparation of surfaces will virtually assure inadequate coating performance.
MAINTENANCE
No antifouling paint can be effective under all conditions of exposure. Man
made pollution and natural occurrences can adversely affect antifouling paint
performance. Extreme hot and cold water temperatures, silt, dirt, oil, brackish
water and even electrolysis can ruin an antifouling paint. Therefore, we strongly
suggest that the bottom of the boat be checked regularly to make sure it is clean
and that no growth is occurring. Lightly scrub the bottom with a soft brush to
remove anything from the antifouling paint surface. Scrubbing is particularly
important with boats that are idle for extended periods of time. The coating is
most effective when the boat is used periodically.

Used boat we had purchased had hull blisters, I consulted Jamestown support for my repair effort.. After grinding out all the blisters with a 80 grit disk pad, and cleaning the boating, I used the west systems SIX TEN product ( I'm sure Thixo would work just as well) , I applied 2 coats to each blister, washing the amine blush in between and sanding again with 80 grit. After the second coat of epoxy, we again washed the amine blush off , sanded, and used total boat fairing, which got us to a match level surface contour. We then sanding the entire boat bottom after marking the water line, cleaned the surface, and then applied the Total Boat Total protect , with 4 coats of the product with 3/16 roller, used about 1 1/2 gallons. We then bottom painted using the Vivid product since we're trailering the boat, applying 2 coats within the time frames instructed and we couldn't be happier with how the product applied and looks . Next step is launching the boat this weekend, and re-trailering to see how the boat looks. I wouldn't hesitate using this product based off of all the research I found and the product support available . Thanks Jamestown for helping me through this process..

Built a 18' bay boat. I wanted the bottom to be white. I bought 2 quarts and painted the bottom. The color is now yellowish white or oyster white. This isn't what the description read. It described Vivid white as the " whitest of whites". Spent $200 plus . What a waste. Jamestown did deliver quickly with no problems though. Disappointed, Pettit is a good boat paint, but not this time
